Warning! I am Frustrated! Read With Caution!!



We were Robbed last night!!!!




At any basketball game or football game, I never say a word about the Ref's or the coaching. The reason is because I have called basketball and football and I know how tough it is to call games. I also know how tough it is to coach, because I have coached as well, football and basketball. But last night our 8Th grade girls team was ROBBED by several bad calls!! Trying to keep my composure was not easy. We lost by 2 points with no time left of the clock a girl (who is an excellent player from the other team) sunk two free throws to win them the game. I take nothing away from the players of this team 32 miles west of us. They played very hard and very well, and I respect them for that. But with that said we were "ROBBED," I tell you! I felt so bad for our girls they played so hard and so good.
OK, this is the scene. We are tied with 14 sec. left on the clock in the 4Th period. We throw the ball in under the other teams basket. A few passes to get it to half court, a couple of passes past half court, the time is ticking down, and one of our girls breaks lose for a lay up and scores to put us ahead by 2! There is 2.7 seconds left on the clock, the other coach calls time out as soon as the ball goes through the net. The ref. comes over to the scores table and tells them to put 6.0 seconds back on the clock (What?????) They throw the ball in take it to half court, we are called for a foul, (Not) girl goes to line ties the game up at the line. We throw the ball in, girl steals inbounds pass (fouling to do so) the ref calls a foul on OUR girl??,,and sends them back to the line with no time left on the clock. Girl sinks both free throws and wins the game. ROBBED I TELL YOU, ROBBED!!!!!!!!! Can you tell that I am a little upset, and its 24 hours later? All of this going on and trying to keep my composure and seeing my bracelet that says's (WWJD), Man that was tough, maybe it was a test, I probably did not do very good.
Oh well, its not if you win or lose its how you play the game right? I will think about that one for a while. Next week is another game! I have to hand it to the girl that sunk those free throws though, she was a great player! Again those girls played hard, I take nothing away from them. If you are reading this and you are from that town 32 miles west of us, know that I did put a warning up and we were ROBBED! And know that most of my family lives and this town and I know probabally 95% of you, and I ask all of you to Pray for me I need it!!! There are worse things in life than this, I keep telling myself! If it was just any other town 32 miles west of us, it would make it better. Again please pray for me!
