We made it home from Colorado Springs Saturday afternoon. We had a really great time together. The weather in Colorado was really great. It rained almost every night that we were there. It is good to be home thought. I can not believe that school starts in just a couple of weeks. This summer has really blown by, i am ready to get into a regular routine though, not ready to get up at 6:00 to take Kyla to athletics though.
While on vacation, we visited James Dobson's Focus On The Family. I bought several things for our youth group and some stuff for our blue box on Sunday nights. We spent a lot of time there and we all enjoyed it very much. I bought a couple of his books, and I am starting a series of lessons, for our Sunday morning class, based on one of the books that I am reading. The series is will be called, "Living A Life That Matters." We will focus on Solomon and his quest to find something in life that lasts and makes him happy. This series of lessons will hopefully help our teens see how important it is to place God first in their lives, and help them see that only God lasts. The main idea is that, Solomon the wisest man that ever lived has already tried everything out there that there is to try to make him happy, and found nothing lasts but God, so we do not have to go through some of the same things he went through. I am writing the lessons from the book that I am reading and also over reading Ecclesiastes, each week the teens will have an outline to follow along with. It has been requested by some parents that I put the outline on the church web sight, so I will see if I can do that. If not I will post an outline here on the blog. Please be praying for our class and that through God's word we will be able to help our teens make great decisions in their life.
