Bruce, our new preacher and his family arrived in Tulia last night. I was really glad to see them. There were so many people from the church that helped him unload his truck last night, and set up beds so they would have a place to sleep. It is really great to be a member of the Lords church and know that you have so much support from the people that you go to church with. The street that the house is on was full of cars, it was a great sight and I know that Bruce and Amanda appreciated the help.
I am especially glad that Bruce is here, this means that my preaching days are over for a while. I love to preach and I enjoyed it, but with everything else that we have going on with the youth and then with our jobs, it became stressful to prepare lessons that I thought would be good for our congregation. Toby Brown and I took turns every other week, and I am glad that he was willing to help, our last sermons were yesterday. He preached Sunday morning and I preached Sunday night. Thanks Toby, you did a great job and you helped take some stress off of me. I feel like now I can concentrate on the youth group more.
We leave for camp at Quartz Mountain next Sunday after services. We will come back on Friday afternoon. We will be here for the next week after camp and then we are going on a vacation. I need it!!, But I don't like being gone from home for very long. But I really need to get away for a while with just my family. All of the kids are looking forward to camp. They always have a great time and they enjoy seeing Friends that they have made from around the area. There are a couple of them who have jobs that they told that they would have to be gone for this one week. This really shows dedication to God, and shows that they have their priorities in line. They realize that time with God and time with others that love God as well, is very important.
Hope that everyone has a great week.
