Refuge:

I drop off both of my children at school today, then come home and read in the newspaper where a former student kills 5 in another school shooting. These things scare me to death, how do I protect my kids. I can not be with them all of the time, I can not be that sheild in front of them 24 hours a day. I just do not understand, how a young person can get so down and so discouraged that he feels he has to take the lives of other young people and then take his own life. We must convey to our youth of this nation, that there is another way, that no matter what the situation, not matter how bad things seem to get, there is a better way, there is a refuge. A refuge not in the killing or hurting of others, but a refuge in God.
Psalms 5:10-12
11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous; you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

During an election year there is a lot being said about, how to fix the economy, how to fix health care, how to get our nation out of debt and how one person can bring on change that will help this nation. Until we as a nation come together and do something to stop our young people from harming each other, and until we all come together and bring God back into our schools and back into our homes, it does not matter if we fix the economy, or if we fix health care, or get out of debt, our country will be in trouble. Our youth of this world is the future of our church and the futrue of our nation. Lets all pray for not only our local youth, but also the youth of this country that they all find refuge in God and not in harming others or themselves.

Matt have you lost your mind, it is not politically correct to have God in schools, it could offend someone. God rules in my school! If parents could learn anything, it is this, turn your Children on to God. If your life is to busy for God it is not life. Somewhere along the way we all got so caught up in our freedoms, that we forgot that we have them because we have been blessed by a loving God. We resemble the Isrealites after Moses brought them out of captivity, how quickly we forget. You would think after so many generations of reminders we would stop embracing golden cows and start embracing the truth. So Sad! I will pray for all the youth and for all the lost parents.
