Blessings

Looking at the picture above makes me think of how blessed I am. We sing a song at Church called "Count your many Blessings." Sometimes when I start to count things, I count what I don't have instead of what I do have. I wear glasses, because without them I just can not see very well, I am not blind but I need help to focus on things far away. I need that help as well with my blessings, I am sometimes blind to my true blessings. I go through the day taking advantage of some of these true blessings and do not thank God enough for what he has blessed me with. I guess what I am saying is that, I am blind, and I need Jesus to open my eyes. I pray that he does that today. I keep a journal, and I often write down my prayers. At times I will write down things that I am truly thankful for. I need to do that more, here lately I have struggled with writing in my journal and thanking God. Today, here on this blog I am listing some of my true blessings from God that sometimes I take advantage of. I challenge all of you this next week, Thanksgiving week to open your eyes and see your true blessings.
  • My wonderful family
  • My healthy Children
  • My Church congregation
  • Our youth group
  • My home
  • My parents
  • My Job

This may seem like a short list, I am blessed with so many other things, but when I sit down and think what really charges my batteries, these are the blessings that come to mind, that help me everyday. I have a wonderful family to come home to, they make me smile and make me laugh, and I thank God that they are all healthy. Our Church congregation is so great, I look forward to seeing them every week, to spend time with people of the same faith and know that they would do anything for me. My home, a wonderful, safe place to come to. My parents, what wonderful wisdom to go to. My Job, I love to help people, especially Sr. citizens.

Finally on the list is our youth group. In a way the Elders hired us to help you guys. I am not sure that it has not turned out to be the other way around. You guys have helped me sooooooooo much. I look forward to seeing you guys every week. I feed off of you energy, and you guys really lift me up, and I thank you for that. Don't tell the Elders, but they should really be paying you guys, for helping me grow. You guys are a true blessing in my life, thank you, and I thank God for you as well.

Today is Friday lunch, looking forward to seeing everyone. We will be going to Childress on Sunday, we will leave at 1:30, so be ready. I know that Childress has planned out a great time for all of us.

Jake has challenged me to start a poll. So look for that on the blog. We will start with favorites super hero's. I will leave that poll on for the rest of the weekend and next week. Then we are going to do favorite super hero's of the bible. Whoever wins each poll we will put together for a challenge for the next week. It will be fun to see who comes out on top.See all of you on Sunday!!!
