Lets Help

I did a post yesterday called "dry bones." In our class last night we read Ezekiel chapter 37 and we talked about the blessings that we have that these homeless kids in Denver do not have. You guys in our youth group decide that you wanted to help them how ever you could. We are going to start collecting things that we can send to dry bones, for them to give to the homeless kids. I think that this is an awesome thing that you are doing. The following is a list of things that dry bones has on their web sight that they can use to help these kids

  1. sleeping bags
  2. bottled water
  3. canned drinks
  4. gently used or new tents
  5. black work boots
  6. winter coats
  7. chap sticks
  8. gift certificates (Sonic, Taco Bell, McDonald's, Subway, Wendy's, Wal-Mart)
  9. New Bibles
  10. Deodorant
  11. Polysporin (Neosporin)
  12. Gauze
  13. Athletic Tape
  14. Travel first Aid Kit
  15. Travel size wet wipes
  16. Back Packs

Also dry bones is a non profit organization, they will accept any old cell phones or printer cartridges. They will recycle these to offset some of their cost.

So start looking way back in your closets and under you beds. Start cleaning your rooms and looking for stuff that we can send these kids, your parents will love you for cleaning you rooms. We will start collecting these things at the church, you can bring them to the youth room and we will keep them there. After we think we have enough we will box it all up and send it to dry bones. Helping others is a great thing, it will bring us closer to God, and hopefully bring these kids closer to God and help them survive on the streets of Denver. Lets remember to pray for these kids and for dry bones.

Remember lunch at the church on Friday, tell all of your Friends and invite them to come. Also good luck to Phillip, he plays tonight at Sandford Fritch. Also we have our band members playing Friday night at the football game, Teddy, Lori, Jake, and Kati, play Loud!!! Remember that we will be at the Howell House Sat. at 6:00pm, (the Pm is for Jake, not Am Jake, Pm) Also we will chop wood Sunday afternoon for the High plains Children's home, then go to the lake after that.

Hope that you all have a great day!!! Remember the verse at the top left hand corner. See ya Friday at lunch!!

Your story about the homeless kids really moved Joda, so I went and looked at the web page and was just thinking about how I never spend my change, it collects in my purse until it gets to heavy to carry and then I gather it all up and put it in a jar and Greg collects it from me and saves it, then one day rolles it all up and buys something hunting related with it. Maybe you would like to collect it and turn it into paper money for mailing donations or buy supplies or gift certificates with it. I'm sure that there are others like me that never pull out change when paying for things. Just a thought, you could make the kids roll it for you!

well John 13:34 says...

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."

and John 13:14 says...

"Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet."

THanks Mattyou saved me from getting up at 5o'clock in the morning and saved a good night.

Heres John 13:14 "Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet."
